I have gotten a lot of mileage over the years introducing myself with "Shake the hand, that shook the hand, that held the hand of Klondike Kate." That was a referrence to a family friend who I know from watching... as a big eyed kid.... Henry Landou chatting, years latter , with the love of his youth, mispent in Dawson City, the famous Klondike Kate. The photo here is the famous dance hall girl wrapped in the veil she was known for removing in a "teasing" sort of way. I think my great-grandfather "Midas" MacAdam also fell in love with the "Queen of the North," before leaving the Yukon for Nome. So much for personal history. Kate has always been to me the First Place Winner in the catergory of people making a living, mining the miners, that she has now become a placeholder here.
