Goldstone Resources LLC is a wholly owned S corporation that is exploring a hardrock gold project with multiple showings of gold mineralization near Fairbanks, Alaska. Geological mapping, sampling, and geophysics, both aerial- and ground-based, indicate at least three specific areas recommended for evaluation, including drilling. These areas will be referred to as the Line 18 Area, North Ridge, and the Line 6 Area.
The Goldstone Resources L.L.C. project is located 12 miles northwest of Fairbanks within the historic Fairbanks Mining District. The property lies approximately seven miles southwest of the True North Mine, presently operated by Ft. Knox Mine (Kinross Gold Corp.), and immediately west of the Eagle Creek prospect, including the Scrafford Antimony Mine, now held by Silverado Mines, Ltd. To the northeast, there is a common boundary with claims held by Kinross Gold Corp.
The property is on the existing road system and electrical power grid. The site is reached via the Elliot Highway, then west on Old Murphy Dome Road, which leads to and crosses the property. Both roads are maintained year around. Power lines, including the electrical transmission line to the Ft. Knox Mine, cut across the southern edge of the claim block.
Placer gold was discovered in the area in the early 1900's and has been produced on Sargent, Eagle, Treasure, and Independence Creeks. Discoveries are also reported on both Our and Any Creeks but they were not produced in significant quantity, in part due to depth of frozen overburden. The area is entirely covered by a continuous vegetation matt and underlying frozen loess that thickens to as much as 75 feet on the lower slopes. Likely for this reason, there has been little historic hardrock exploration.
The project is located on multiple-use land of the State of Alaska within the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Mining claims were originally located by the company in 1996, with additional ground in the Any Creek area added in 1997. Continuing field studies recently identified exploration targets in the North Ridge area and led to acquiring prospecting sites in 2002. This included a portion of the former Old Dog prospect, which was explored by Cyprus Amax Minerals Co. in the late 1990s. Currently, the company holds approximately 6,000 acres as state mining claims and state prospecting sites.
Exploration permits for trenching and/or drilling are presently held for the Line 18 prospect area. The company has annually conducted limited geological investigations on the property and data are maintained in annual reports, including results of about 500 sample analyses (see references1,2,3,4). Additionally, the company has acquired exploration data and drill results developed by Cyprus AMAX for the upper Any Creek area and the Old Dog prospect in the North Ridge area (see reference 5). |
